International Collegiate Virtual Reality Contest is organized through the Virtual Reality Society. We will hold IVRC2011, the 19th annual competition this Fall.

This BOF is for attendees interested in interactive techniques especially for student education and trials. We, IVRC (International collegiate Virtual Reality Contest) Executive committee is organized with Virtual Reality Society of Japan (VRSJ) will host IVRC2011, the 19th annual competition. The aim of this contest is the popularization and deep understanding of virtual reality technologies through students creation of original virtual reality systems, developed on unique devices, with diverse animation, interactions, etc...

IVRC is not only the event of the competition but it is also a 21st century new education system to help to foster those who think, study and create by themselves, and connects them with region, industrial and academic societies. Also this continuous activity had created cooperative realtionships with French virtual reality student competition in Laval Virtual and the Entertainment Technology Center in Carnegie Mellon University (CMU-ETC). A lot of IVRC students are able to travel across countries to show their work.

In this years SIGGRAPH E-Tech, we have had one project accepted "Mommy Tummy" from IVRC2009 grandprix.

On this year's BoF meeting, we will show our activities, latest updates from Japan. And also we introduce you the next Tokyo preliminary stage that be held with Entertainment Computing conference in Miraikan (a science museum in Tokyo) at October 2011. Attendee will have a chance to know presentations of innovation know-hows and to get annual DVD of IVRC2010.

Laval Virtual - International Conference & Exhibition on Virtual Reality and Converging Technologies

Established in 1999, Laval Virtual is the first event in Europe dedicated to Virtual/Augmented Reality, Interactive Techniques, Realtime 3D and Converging Technologies.

It gathers professionals, scientists, students, general public and medias during five days in the city of Laval (France). And each year, more than 12,000 worldwide visitors attend the show.

This BOF is for attendees interested in interarctive techniques especially for students education and trials.

We, IVRC (International collegiate Virtual Reality Contest) Executive committee that is organized with Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture in Japan and Virtual Reality Society of Japan (VRSJ) will hold IVRC2006, the 15 th annual competition.

The aim of this contest is popularization and deep understanding for virtual reality technologies through participated students of the contest create own virtual reality system, develop own devices and animate their contents, etc... IVRC is not only an event of the competition but it is also a 21 century style new education system to foster who can think, study and create by themselves that has a formation with region, industrial and academic society.

Also this continuous activities had created a cooperate with French virtual reality student competition on Laval Virtual. The aim is exchanges of student projects, a lot of students visit each country with their best projects.

In this years SIGGRAPH E-Tech, we had been accepted 2 student projects from final nominates CoGAME: Manipulation by Projection and BYU-BYU-View: A Wind Communication Interface from executive committee members.

On this year's BoF meeting, we will show our activities, latest videos from Japan and France. And also we introduce you the next Tokyo preliminary stage that be held with Entertainment Computing conference in Miraikan (a science museum in Tokyo).

Attendee will have a chance to get DVDs that includes past IVRC acitivities and student innovations.
